I couldn’t find an accurate description of which version I was looking at. Some sites say GP30, others say GP15AC and then some say GP38-2. I can’t tell the various models apart at a glance. I guess I’ll need to find a 2017 roster and go by that.

I tried driving a high-hood GP9 in Train Simulator 2017 but was put off by the lack of visibility, sort of like driving a steamer. But I guess it doesn’t really matter since I tend to have my virtual head hanging out the window most of the time anyway...

I just like the “all business” look of a high-hood. I used to watch the Chessie GPs working when I was a kid and knew I wanted to be an engineer some day. About 2 years into my aeronautical engineering degree I learned the sad truth: engineers don’t drive trains :(
